The Singapore Portrait Series Currency Notes (1999 – present(2022)) feature the portrait of Singapore’s first President, the late Encik Yusof bin Ishak, to honour his invaluable contribution towards nation-building. The $1,000 note from the Portrait Series was first issued on 9 September 1999. The Singapore $1,000 banknotes are one of the world’s most valuable and sought after banknotes to own.
These currency design souvenirs:
- contain the word “SPECIMEN” in black and bold lettering diagonally across the souvenirs
- are not more than 60% of both the length and width of the genuine note
- feature only one side of the note design
