The Animal Kingdom
Due to rapid industrialization, urbanization and deforestation, Global Warming has gravely impacted all animals and their natural habitats. In order to support the conservation of the Animal Kingdom and all Natural Wonders Of the Earth, The Singapore Mint is launching a collection of pins, keychains and figurines; to help raise awareness on the endangered animals and help save the Earth, one step at a time.
This collection will first feature two endangered animals, the Polar Bears and Black Rhinoceros. Rising temperatures that led to the melting of ice caps, resulted in the loss of the polar bears’ natural habitat. The Black Rhinoceros are critically endangered, losing their home to agriculture and urbanization.
Interesting fact about Rhinoceros:
The Black Rhinoceros horns are perhaps their most famous physical feature — even the name "rhinoceros" comes from Greek words which means "nose horn."
Interesting fact about Polar Bears:
Polar bear's fur is translucent, and only appears white because it reflects visible light. Beneath all that thick fur, their skin is jet black.
