The Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge (HZMB or HKZMB) is a bridge–tunnel system, which consists of a series of three cable-stayed bridges and one undersea tunnel, as well as two artificial islands. It spans the Lingdingyang channel, which connects Hong Kong with Macau and Zhuhai, three major cities on the Pearl River Delta. The total length of the bridge is 55 kilometers, making it now the longest bridge over water worldwide. The bridge was officially opened on 23 October 2018 and opened to traffic the next day, 24 October 2018.
The obverse side depicts People’s Republic of China’s national emblem and year date. The reverse side shows various designs including: main tower of QingZhou Bridge which is core part of the big bridge; direct bridge pathway over river and sea, man-made island; composite designs showing bauhinia, blossom and lotus; with wordings “In commemoration of the Opening of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge” in Chinese also English and the face value.
