ABOUT THIS COIN

Kong Zi, also known as Confucius, is a famous philosopher and educator during the Spring and Autumn Period (700-476BC). His teachings and philosophy have much commonality with Chinese tradition and belief, and hence he is worshipped by generations as a sage master for fillal piety, family ties and academics.

The design features Confucius standing with his hands held together against an excerpt of text from The Analects ‘论语’‘, which outlines a life devoted to learning and pursuit of self cultivation. His name in chinese “孔子” is engraved next to him.
