Japan 30th Anniversary of the Enthronement of His Majesty the Emperor 999.9 Gold Proof Coin
Member Price: S$2,700.00
Emperor of Japan on 7 January 1989. His Majesty will be abdicating on 30 April 2019
due to advancing age, which means that this coin series will be the very final series
dedicated to His Majesty. In modern Japan, there had been no instance of Emperor's
retirement; modern Emperors had been in their position until their demise. His
Majesty’s abdication will be the first time in more than 200 years since 1817.
Phoenix appeared on the coin's obverse side celebrating the 30th Anniversary of the Enthronement of His Majesty the Emperor Akihito.
Each Member of the Japan’s Imperial Family has a sign used to mark their
belongings. Paulownia for Emperor Akihito and white birch for Empress Michiko are depicted on the obverse side of the coin.
Depicted on the reverse side of the gold coin is the Imperial Crest of the Chrysanthemum.
