From left to right, the set consists of the Istana Vanda Miss Joaquim 1oz 999 Fine Silver Proof-Like Medallion, Istana Swans 1oz 999 Fine Silver Proof-Like Medallion and two unique medallions that are only exclusive to the 4-in-1 set. The Oriental Pied Hornbill and Barn Owl amongst tropical fruits and spices are featured on the third and fourth medallion respectively, as a representation of Istana’s active participation in the conservation of endangered native species.
The reverse design features the official Istana logo with nutmeg inspired motifs.
A key highlight of the 4-in-1 medallion set is that, two of the medallions which features the Oriental Pied Hornbill and Barn Owl amongst tropical fruits and spices, are only exclusive to the set.
Originally a nutmeg plantation, the Istana is a verdant green lung in the bustling city centre of Singapore and a sanctuary for the conservation of the abundant flora and fauna that it is home to.
As part of the Istana 150th anniversary commemorations, The Singapore Mint in collaboration with the Istana, releases the 2nd issue of the Istana Souvenir Series, showcasing the rich flora and fauna diversity within the Istana. This Flora and Fauna of Istana medallion series was launched by Madam Halimah Yacob, 8th President of the Republic of Singapore.
