French Excellence - Baccarat 10€ 900 Fine Silver Proof Coin

For this release of the French Excellence series, Monnaie de Paris has chosen to work with Baccarat, the foremost crystal glassware manufacturer, which celebrated its 250th anniversary in 2014.

The reverse features a glassblower blowing into a pipe to form the glass. The face value is inscribed using octagons to draw the figure 0. One of those figures is coloured red, as a reference to Baccarat’s distinctive red octagon. The intricate pattern of curves on the obverse picks up the motif on the Tsarina’s pedestal table, and in its centre is the monogram of the French Republic (RF) as used on the Baccarat service for the French Presidency.
