China Monkey 5 oz Rectangular 999 Fine Silver Proof Coin

In 2016, to commemorate the Lunar Year of the Monkey, the People’s Bank of China released a limited issue Rectangular-Shaped 50 Yuan Silver Coin struck in solid fine 999 Silver weighing five ounces of pure silver.

The obverse of the coin features the national emblem of the People’s Republic of China, auspicious design of lotus and fish symbolizing a surplus year after year, the name “People’s Republic of China” in Chinese and the year date. The reverse features a lifelike monkey perching on a tree in the foreground, a decorative design of a monkey’s head as the background and the face value.
