The formidable tiger appears full of vigor, with earthly elements of leaf-like stripes and vines, emphasizing its prowess in Bhutan’s evergreen forests.
The reverse coin design features Paro Takstang, also known as the Tiger’s Nest Monastery, a tranquil monastery especially revered by the Buddhist and Bhutanese people. Built in 1692, Paro Taktsang is precariously perched on a cliff over 3,000 meters above sea level.
