In the Chinese culture, the fish symbolizes abundance and prosperity as the Chinese word for fish (魚yu) is pronounced the same way as abundance (裕yu).
Koi fishes, in particular, are often considered to be symbols of wealth and good fortune.
As the Chinese saying goes, “Good things come in pairs (好事成双)”.

The latest addition to the Auspicious Icons medal collection sees the intricate design of the well-loved and auspicious Koi Fishes on a pair of limited edition Tri-Metal medallion and ingot.

On the obverse of the medallion features a pair of Koi fishes swimming around plentiful coins and ingots to symbolize good fortune, abundance and great advancements, as well as to usher boundless wealth and luck for the coming year. The design also features auspicious symbols such as the Chinese lanterns and the Lu (禄) symbol encircling the pair of koi fishes to denote prosperity, good fortune and a prosperous career.

On the reverse of the medallion features the Chinese characters “Nian Nian You Yu” (年年有余) to signify surplus throughout the year.

A unique feature of this medallion is its tri-metal components.
The medallion is made out of 3 different metals, mainly:
- Gold (Outer Ring)
- Bronze (Middle Ring)
- Silver (Inner Ring)
